All About You

I want to write about you,

You who are my true love

You who in my darkest time

Become my brilliant light.

I want to think about you,

You who swim in my mind

And wash my thoughts and mind

With your pure wine of light.

I want to know about you,

You whom cannot be quite known

And taste you with my soul

Then get drunk with your love.

I want to come near you,

You who dwell within me

And feel the joy of being

Drowned in real love.

 

Susan Abbassi is a writing specialist who holds a master degree in English literature and a double Bachelor Degrees in Religious Study and English literature from California State University, Bakersfield. Susan is currently working in the Writing Center at Bakersfield College, where she is the faculty adviser for Muslim Student Association (MSA).
