Drowning in Love

By Susan Abbassi

A river moves into my heart

And runs through all my existence,

Softly, with a tendered stroke

In this river, I live

Without knowing how to swim

I need not knowing

How to swim

Drowning is my goal.

A river of joy, a river of love

Flowing with passion

Ending in eternity.

Embracing my being

This is my life.

I breathe

Eat and dance

In this river, with my soul.

Each day

I wash my thoughts in this river

And cleanse my heart with its love.

Joy, I sing to mine

And dance with delight.

To live in this river

For a minute time,

Worth the lives of all.
